PhD in Germanic philology, associate professor
In 1976 graduated from Irkutsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (nowadays Irkutsk State Linguistic University).
In 1993 got PhD in Germanic philology.
1995-1998 - the head of the English grammar department
1998-2002 - the head of the University assessment department.
Since 2002 till 2006 had been working at a doctorate thesis entitled "Seemingnees as a Linguistic Phenomenon" which focuses on the so called "human factor" in linguistics and its role in the categorization and conceptualization of reality.
Since 2006 has been lecturing at the department of Theoretical Linguistics.
Research interests are within various fields of cognitive linguistics, and in particular within the relations between semantic and conceptual categories, language and conceptualization.
